On May 5th, vote Zahriyannah Karakashian-Jones for Brookline Town Meeting in Precinct 4
I’m Zahriyannah, and I am running for Town Meeting!
Brookline deserves leadership that listens, includes, and shows up.
I’m running to bring energy, compassion, and accountability to local government and to help ensure Brookline remains a community where everyone can belong and thrive.
Issue #1 Protecting Our Most Vulnerable Neighbors - I am running to help ensure Brookline remains a community where LGBTQIA+ residents, young people, immigrants, people of color, and all marginalized neighbors are safe, respected, and protected. Our town government should lead with courage, compassion, and a clear commitment to dignity for everyone.
Issue #2 Transparent, Accountable Local Government - Residents deserve to understand how decisions are made, how money is spent, and how elected officials are voting on the issues that affect daily life. I believe in open government, clear communication, and making Town Meeting more accessible and understandable to the people it serves.
Issue #3 Investing in Youth, Schools, Arts, and Community Life - A stronger Brookline means investing in the programs and public spaces that make this town vibrant and livable. I support protecting our schools, arts and culture, youth engagement, and essential community services so that Brookline works not just for a few, but for all of us.
Issue #4 Housing Affordability and Stability - Brookline should be a place where working people, families, seniors, and young residents can afford to stay and build their lives. I support policies that protect housing stability, expand affordability, and help ensure our community does not become inaccessible to the very people who make it strong.
Issue #5 Civic Engagement and Community Voice - Our local government works best when residents feel informed, welcomed, and empowered to participate. I want to help create more opportunities for people, especially young people and historically underrepresented voices, to engage in civic life, share their concerns, and shape the future of Brookline.
I’m running for Town Meeting because I care deeply about the future of Brookline and the people who call this community home. I want to help build a town that is more transparent, more inclusive, and more responsive to the needs of everyday residents. At a time when so many people feel unheard or pushed aside, I believe local government must be a place where people are protected, informed, and empowered. I’m running to stand up for vulnerable communities, strengthen trust in town government, support meaningful investment in our schools and community life, and make sure Brookline remains a place where everyone can belong and thrive.
